Birthday for Color Throwdown & AEI♥U!

Happy Friday!  Hope your week has been a great one!  Today's card is for a few challenges.  The color challenge at Color Throwdown, Seize The Birthday: Anything Goes, and the first AEI♥U challenge!

I followed the sketch over at Freshly Made sketches too!  :)

One thing I love about challenges is the way they help you to use colors/designs together that you may have never thought of.  I can honestly say that I totally neglect Tangerine Tango but have used it twice this week on cards because of color challenges.  I tend to go for Pumpkin Pie instead of Tangerine Tango.

I used All Squared Up by Avery Elle on my background piece and of course, I had to use my all time favorite Rounded Diamond stamps/dies from Avery Elle!  The sentiment is called From Us by Simon Says Stamp.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!!!

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Basic Black
Ink:  So Saffron, Versafine Black, Versamark
Stamps:  All Squared up, Rounded Diamonds (Avery Elle), From Us (SSS)
Accessories:  Rounded diamonds dies (Avery Elle), Black Candy dot, Banner Trio die (Wplus9)

Basics & Beyond!

Hi friends!  Today's card was inspired by a new Online Card Class called Basics & Beyond, that my friends Catherine, Maureen, & Chupa have put together.  The class opens today!

This is their second class, the first one was A Very Trendy Holiday.  Both classes are amazing and highly recommended.

This class was released early to StampNation members with a 50% off coupon code.

Not a member?  Subscribe now, then grab your code.

Here is what others are saying about it...
I have gone through 2 lessons so far and love the class. Wish it had been available before. Like any new skill, it is so important to build a strong foundation with the basics before adding all the embellishments. I like the way each lesson builds on the previous one. I also like the way it encourages you to work with stamps and supplies you have on hand. Great inspiration and ideas!!!

I was inspired by the colors at Dynamic Duos.

I hope to see you inside the classroom!

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, Vellum cardstock

Merry Monday #97

Happy Monday friends.  Time for another Merry Monday challenge and this week we want you to use the colors Aqua, Silver, & white.

I used the Christmas: Cover up die from Lil' Inker Designs and the fun glitter technique Jen Rzasa from Our Change of Art showed here.  I tried this with silver and aqua glitter but really wasn't happy with the result.  I am much happier with the one above.  Here is my first attempt with silver.

I hope you will join us for this week's Merry Monday challenge.  Make sure you visit the Merry Monday blog to see the rest of the beautiful cards from the Design Team members.

Here is the inspiration photo.

Not only are neon colors trendy but also the hand lettering die cut from Simon Says & silver star sequins.

Birthday wishes

My second card for today is for Papertrey's Birthday celebration.  They want us to use stripes on our card.  I used the long, skinny stamp from Watercolor Wonder to stamp my stripes.  I am following the sketch over at Retro sketches and the Cue word at CASology: Bold.

I found some cool foil paper at Wal-mart yesterday and thought it added a bold statement to the subtle colors.  Sorry for the photo.  The paper really is shiny in real life.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

I have had this stamp set from Wplus9 for a while now but this is the first time inking it up.  I have used some of the sentiments on various cards but haven't inked the hearts or the "line".  It is a fun set.
