Just Us Girls #256

Hi everyone!  I am sharing my last card as Guest Designer for Just Us Girls Challenge.  :(  I have had so much fun this month.  Thank you so much for having me.

This week is Wildcard Week.  We challenge you to make anything other than a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 card.

I used my very neglected Daydream Medallions stamp and matching framelits to create a cute Christmas card.  I love the colors black and gold together.  So striking for Christmas.

Head on over to the Just Us Girls blog to see what the design team has created and join in!

Sept. Birthday

Hi friends!  Today's card was inspired by a couple challenges.  The sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! and Seize the Birthday challenge blog where the Toppings are Black and white.

I love the Birthday Classics:  Monthly stamp sets by Papertrey Ink.  I have gotten them for every month so far.  I send a lot of birthday cards and thought these sentiments are perfect.  The DSP is Kaleidoscope by SU!  You can't tell in the photo (sorry about the quality, I am trying to figure out my new camera settings) but I sprayed the stamped sentiment piece with Sheer Shimmer Spritz by Imagine Crafts.  It adds a great but subtle shimmer to your paper.  The enamel dots are some I made by melting down Perler beads.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Merry Monday #123

Happy Monday friends!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Bonnie challenges us to use a Wreath on our cards.
This Wreath stamp by Avery Elle has got to be my all time favorite wreath stamp.  I just love it!  Stamped and embossed in white on kraft.  The Stitched border dies from PPP finishes off the bottom.  PPP 4mm Raspberry Sequins make the perfect berries.
I hope you will join us this week to get a head start on your Christmas cards for 2014.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Stamp-a-Faire The Renaissance Wax Seals

Nicole showed us how to make wax seals for envelopes and also as embellishments for our cards.  My seal didn't turn out the greatest.  I used the star stamp from Confetti Garland Borders.  I think I would have been happier if it was a perfect circle but sometimes you just can't control the wax.  :)

Here is a close-up:

Off to work on more challenges.  Thanks for visiting!

Stamp-a-Faire The Renaissance Velvet Stamping

We traveled next to The Renaissance Era.  Nicole taught us velvet stamping.  Very hard to photograph but a neat effect that I would have never tried or even thought of.

You can tell Maureen and I were stamping together.  Our cards are very similar.  :)

Stamp-a-Faire Ancient Rome

This is my second post for today, please scroll down for my Timer Challenge.

The next Stamp -a- Faire challenge took us to Ancient Rome.  We learned a fun Faux Mosiac technique.  I think this one was my favorite so far.  I am in love with Maureen's card for this challenge.  It turned out great.  I am not in love with my card but it was fun to try out.

PTI Stamp-a-Faire Morning Timer Challenge

Hi friends.  Maureen and I have been creating all day.  Our first challenge this morning was a timer challenge.  We chose a sketch and color combo and set the timer for 20 minutes.  I shouldn't have chosen the die cuts that needed some thread through them.  I finished a bit over 20 minutes.  Very fun though.

Papertrey Stamp-a-Faire Meet & Greet

Hi friends!  Yesterday I drove 8 hours to spend the weekend with Maureen to participate in Papertrey's Stamp-a-Faire.  We woke up early this morning to get started on the challenges.  This is our first time participating and we are so excited.

We will be popping in later today.  See you soon.  Have a great day!

Just Us Girls #255

Hi everyone!  I am back sharing my card for my Guest Design spot over at Just Us Girls.  This week is Photo week and what an awesome photo it is.  :)

I was inspired by the red in the photo and instead of flowers I used apples.  This photo made me think of fall, and apple picking, which is quickly approaching here in Northern NH.  :(  Summer is going by way too quickly for me.

Let's Celebrate!

Hi friends!  Today's card is for two challenges.  The sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and the August Color Challenge at Reverse Confetti.

This sketch was perfect for the Let's Chill Confetti Cuts from Reverse Confetti.  I used my alcohol inks on glossy paper so they had shine like real popsicles.  The sentiment is from Beautiful Banners.  My blue is not exactly navy but I hope it still counts.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Stamps:  Beautiful Banners (RC)
Ink:  Versafine Black, Watermelon & Sailboat Blue Alcohol inks
Paper:  Glossy Cardstock, Gold Foil (SU), Kaleidscope DSP (SU)
Accessories: Let's Chill Confetti Cuts (RC)

Guest for Top Dog Dies & a Giveaway!

**This is my second post for today.  Click here or scroll down for my Merry Monday post.**

Hi everyone!  I am so excited to be a guest designer over at Top Dog Dies today.  They sent me some very beautiful dies to work with.  If you aren't familiar with their company, here is a little bit about them.  Top Dog Dies is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including Little B, Lawn Fawn, Taylored Expressions, Savvy Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs.  Top Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by British designer Stephanie Weightman.

Here is my first card using the beautiful Darby Doily & Tags Die set along with the Bird Trio dies.

I created a CAS card so that the intricacy of this die took center stage.  The middle panel was inked up using Distress inks which made the perfect background for the silhouette of the bird.

Here is my second card:

Head on over to the Top Dog blog to see how I created the color on the border die and the bird.

BUT before you go, the GIVEAWAY!!!

Top Dog Dies is doing a guest designer giveaway for the whole month of August! The winner will receive $50 worth of exclusive dies of their choice from Top Dog Dies.  Enter HERE!  Deadline to enter will be Sunday, August 31 at midnight Central Standard Time.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Merry Monday #122

Happy Monday friends!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Sue challenges us to use Black, Gold & Silver on our cards.

I have used lots of shimmer and sparkle on my card.  I used the Silver and Champagne Glimmer paper by Stampin' Up.  Punched out the stars using the Itty Bitty Punch pack and the Joy die by PTI is cut using Black glitter paper, which is hard to see in the photo.

I hope you will join us this week to get a head start on your Christmas cards for 2014.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Just Us Girls #254

Hi everyone!  I am back sharing my card for my Guest Design spot over at Just Us Girls.  This week is Color Week.  Using the colors Blue, Green and any neutrals.

I love these colors together.  The technique I used is one I learned in the Online Card Class: Stretch Your stamps.  I absolutely love how it turned out and didn't want to cover up much of the background so I embossed my sentiment onto black cardstock.  I then die cut using the new Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag dies by Lil' Inker Designs.  The background stamp is Fronds by Penny Black.

Merry Monday #121

Happy Monday friends!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Wendy challenges us to use Pinecones & Greens with Plaid ribbon on our cards.

I love this ornament die from Papertrey Ink.  It worked perfectly for my card.  All the stamps come from Winter Wreath by Avery Elle.  I added a bit of diagonal scoring on the red cardstock.  It is a bit hard to see in this photo.

I hope you will join us this week to get a head start on your Christmas cards for 2014.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Just Us Girls #253

Hi everyone!  I am back sharing my card for my Guest Design spot over at Just Us Girls.  This week is Trend Week.  Use Washi tape on your card or project.

I created this fun card for my niece.  This washi tape by Kelly Purkey is very fun and trendy, perfect for a teenager.  Don't you think?

Merry Monday #120

Happy Monday friends!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Nina challenges us to use a sled, ski or skates on our cards.

I used the silhouette die from Impression Obsession.  The background is embossing paste through a stencil on black cardstock.  The texture is great in real life.

I hope you will join us this week to get a head start on your Christmas cards for 2014.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Just Us Girls - Guest Designer!

Hi friends!  I have some exciting news to share with you all.  I was asked me to be the Guest Designer for JUGS, "Just Us Girls" for the month of Aug.  The first challenge is a Word Challenge: Ribbon.

I have had this pink chevron ribbon in my stash for a while now and thought this was the perfect challenge to use it on.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, Happy Every Day.
