Merry Monday #128

Happy Monday friends!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Katie challenges us to use Stripes, polka dots or both on your Christmas card.

I chose to use both stripes and polka dots.  I love this ornament & Sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  It is from their latest release for Stamptember.   Who doesn't love a little pink and silver for a Christmas card?!

Have you started on your holiday cards yet?  Christmas will be here before you know it.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Let's Celebrate!

Happy Saturday everyone!  Hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far.  The weather is gorgeous here today.  My card for today is for a couple challenges.  First, the September Color challenge at Reverse Confetti.

Second, the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Instead of the tag in the sketch I used the popsicles from Let's Chill.  The sentiment is from Beautiful Banners.

**I just noticed that my card is very similar to Amy's here.  I was thinking the whole time I was making this that I had already made a card similar to this one but, it wasn't me, it was Amy.  :)

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Stamps: Let's Chill 7 Beautiful Banners (Reverse Confetti)
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate (SU)
Paper:  Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Neutrals DSP
Accessories:  4mm & 6mm Sparkly clear sequins (PPP)

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hi friends!  I am participating in Papertrey Ink's Blog hop.

I used the following inspiration cards....

I didn't have Autumn Rose cardstock so I used Rose Red by SU.  Thought it matched pretty close.  When I saw this sketch I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Life Is Beautiful dies.  Love these butterflies.  The inlaid die cutting technique is one of my favorites.

Here is my second card using the leftovers.

I am also adding the top card over at Simon Says: Anything Goes.

Thank you for visiting and enjoy the hop!

Merry Monday #127

Happy Monday friends!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Kathy chose for us to play Christmas Bingo.
Choose three boxes...across, up/down, diagonally!
So much fun!

I chose the three boxes on the diagonal, Emboss, Ribbon/twine & red.  I wasn't sure if I could capture the embossed ornaments in my photo but I succeeded.  yay!  I used an embossing folder (NBUS) by Darice.  I didn't use the whole thing, just a portion of the piece to have it fit perfectly behind this Holiday Frame (NBUS) by SSS.  I wasn't able to capture the Wink of Stella glimmer that I added to the ornaments but it is there.

Christmas will be here before you know it.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Since I used the Holiday Frame & Embossing folder, both of which have never been used, I am entering this over at Darnell's NBUS Challenge #2.

Oh Happy Day & Winner!

Hi everyone!  I had fun with a little masking on this card using the Tomato Vine Kaleidacolor ink pad.  LOVE these ink pads!  These colors are perfect for leaves which are slowly starting to change up here in Northern, NH.  I used the leaves from the set Thankful Leaves by My Favorite Things.  The sentiment is from Oh Happy Day by Avery Elle.

I am linking this up to The Card Concept color challenge in the Clean and Simple category.

Before you go, I have the winner of one month StampNation membership from the Housewarming Party celebrating Catherine Pooler's new blog.

Congratulations, Mel Rich!  Please email Catherine Pooler and she will get you set up!

StampNation Challenge with Reverse Confetti

 Hi everyone!
The StampNation Design Team has teamed up with Reverse Confetti for this week's challenge.
The challenge is a sketch and there are 19 different cards using the same sketch!
If you struggle with sketches, this is a great way to see how many stampers interpret one sketch.

Here is a peek at 6 of the DT's cards...

My card is featured here, can you guess which one is mine?  :)

Reverse Confetti is also giving away a $15 store credit to one lucky participant in the challenge!

Thank you for visiting and thank you, Reverse Confetti for sponsoring StampNation's challenge!
Have a great day!

Merry Monday #126

Happy Monday friends!
*This is my second post today, please scroll down or click here for my "Unique Blog Hop post".*
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Karren challenges us to make the sentiment the star of your Christmas card.

For my card I stamped the snowflake in Neon Pink ink, die cut the Merry, layered it three times with black cardstock then attached the original die cut on top of the stack of black ones.  Adding the black helps the die cut to stand out against the white.  The merry die is from Papertrey Ink along with the matching "Christmas" stamp.

Christmas will be here before you know it.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Unique Blog Hop

Happy Monday friends!

I am joining in a "Unique Blog Hop" that I was nominated for by Kimberly over at Weinerhoneymooners.  I met Kimberly through blog land, not sure exactly how I stumbled upon her but I am SO thankful I did.  We worked together on the Merry Monday challenge blog when she was Featured Designer for the month of June.  You will want to go read all about her and see her amazing creativity!

The card I am sharing for today is one I made during Stamp-a-Faire but haven't been able to get a good photo of it until recently.  I gave this card to my son Jonah for his 8th birthday on Friday.  Can't believe my youngest is 8.  Time flies.

The birthday boy!  Isn't he adorable?!  :)
A friend took this photo, I love how she captured his smile.

Another part of this hop is to answer a few questions so you can learn a little more about me, so here goes!

What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on DT assignments.  Particularly World Card Making Day challenges on StampNation.  We celebrate WCMD each year with different challenges.  It is always a ton of fun and the members love it.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I had to think about this a bit because I've never really thought too much about my personal style and compared it to others'.  I definitely tend to lean towards CAS card making.  I have tried other styles but they just didn't work for me.  I am drawn to "white space".

What inspires your work?
I am inspired all the time by my crafty friends and Pinterest.  I spend way too much time browsing Pinterest but it is there where I find most of my inspiration.

How does your creative process work?
Usually I start my card making process with a challenge of some sort, whether it be a sketch, color or inspiration photo.  Then I go on from there creating something that I hope works out.  Sometimes it does and other times not so much.  haha

Big Shot update:

While I have you all here I wanted to do a quick update on my Big Shot.  If you missed my post about it, click here to read.   I am very happy to say that I was surprised on my birthday with a brand new Big Shot!!!!  A very special friend gifted it to me and I am so very thankful!!!

Now it's my turn to introduce a couple of designers to you!   So now I will nominate two crafters who have kindly agreed to the Unique Blog Hop.  I have nominated Heather North of Creative Blessings.  Heather is not only a very talented card maker but an equally talented Quilt maker.  You will want to check out her blog to see for yourself.

AND Katie Melhus of Sweet n Spiffy.  Katie and I are Merry Monday team mates and that is how I met Katie.  I absolutely LOVE Katie's CAS style.  Make sure you hop on over to check out her amazing creations.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

The theme of the challenge is HOME.  If you don't have any house themed stamps or dies be inspired by even the letters in HOME to represent, Heat Embossing, Ombre, Multiple layers, Embossing of any kind.  Have fun with it.  I was inspired to make a Christmas card using the same layout Catherine used on the card she made for the All Stitched Up challenge on StampNation.  I thought it was fitting to honor Catherine.  :)

Merry Monday #125

Happy Monday friends!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Debbie challenges us to use some type of vehicle or transportation on our cards.

This was a fun challenge.  I have to admit this card took me forever to make.  I love this set from Papertrey ink but it takes quite a bit to get everything lined up on the buildings.   The gray was stamped first and then the black was stamped next.  I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to get everything lined up "perfectly".  The car is actually a taxi cab.  I guess there are/could be red taxi cabs out there somewhere right?!   I have only ever seen yellow ones but I am sure they come in all different colors.  Not sure I have ever seen a taxi cab with a tree on top but I also don't live where there are any taxi cabs around.  Anyone?   Could be possible, right?  If you live in a city without a vehicle.  :)

I hope you will join us this week to get a head start on your Christmas cards for 2014.  Christmas will be here before you know it.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

September birthday and Big Shot woes

Hi friends!  Happy Friday to you.  I am starting with my card for this post.  I know you will all totally understand my Big Shot woes in the next photo.  I have lots of friends with Sept. birthdays (me included) so I decided to make a few CAS cards.  I was totally inspired by Maile's card here

The StampNation Dream Team was spoiled recently by IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko.  They sent us a huge box of goodies to play with.  I absolutely LOVE the Kaleidacolor ink pads.  These are the most amazing ink pads ever.  The great thing about these ink pads is you can use them separately or push them altogether.  I used the Tomato Vine for my leaf and "September".  Pretty cool right?!  Have you tried any of these ink pads?  I highly recommend them.

Now onto my Big shot woes....:(

If you follow me on Instagram you saw that I posted a picture similar to this there.  This is the sad state of my Big Shot.  About 2 weeks ago it started getting really hard to turn the handle.  I had to use all my strength to get something cut.  Not good.  I decided to take it apart to see what was going on and to see if I could fix it.  I have some parts on order that will hopefully keep it working for a bit longer.  I have had it for about 5 years.  If the parts don't work I will have to buy a new one.

How much do you use your Big Shot?  I didn't realize just how much I use mine until I couldn't use it.  This is one reason I made the card above, no need for my Big Shot.

Thank you for visiting and have a great weekend!

Merry Monday #124

Happy Monday friends!
Time for another Merry Monday Challenge.
This week Deanne challenges us to include a gift/present somewhere on our cards.

I had fun using the new dies from Pretty Pink Posh.  The Stitched Duo 2 dies were perfect for the little present stamp from Merry Trees by SSS.  I also used the Stitched Borders 1 die on the piece of DSP.

I hope you will join us this week to get a head start on your Christmas cards for 2014.  Christmas will be here before you know it.  Make sure you check out the other DT members cards over at the Merry Monday challenge blog.
