Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone!  This week starts a new challenge over at StampNation.  We have been busy creating/sharing for the Birthday Bash Done class.  I decided to keep on making some birthday cards using the sketch challenge.

Here's a peek at my card..

Members can view the challenge HERE!

I created another card to post here on my blog using the sketch and some different supplies.

I cut some strips of card stock and glued them onto a piece of printer paper to create the background.  The Stained Glass Cover plate was cut using vellum.  I can see myself using this sketch over and over again.  It's a great one.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

You Make Me Smile

Hi everyone!
Happy Saturday!

I am sharing a card I made using the new Zen Garden Release by Catherine Pooler.  Have you been hopping along on the blog hops for the past 4 days?  So much amazing inspiration.  Click HERE to view my post for Day 4.

I used the Zen Feather and coordinating dies on my card today.

I started my card by cutting the fun triangle strip 8 times from white card stock.  I used each of the new ink colors and applied them to the die cut strips using the direct to paper technique.  I glued these onto a piece of white card stock that was die cut using the postage stamp dies from the Love is in the Air collection.

I then stamped and die cut the feather using Midnight ink.  I attached the feather using dimensional adhesive.  Stamped the sentiment and attached the twine to the bottom of the feather.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Zen Garden Blog Hop - Day 4 & Giveaway

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the Zen Garden Ink Release Blog Hop Day 4!  You should have arrived here from Josephine's blog.  If you started on my blog, the complete hop list is below.

My first two cards feature the amazing Stained Glass Cover plate!

I decided I only wanted to use a section of the die and the circle in the center was the perfect part to use on my Clean & Simple card.

I stared by sponging ink onto a piece of card stock in a circular pattern until I got the blend and enough of the paper colored to die cut the cover plate and have the "circle" all colored.  I used the template of another piece of card stock that was cut using the cover plate as a guide to adhere the little bits and pieces.  As you can see in the close-up below I adhered some of them using dimensional adhesive and some flat using liquid glue.

I stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Love Grows stamp set onto black card stock and attached it to the center of the circle.  I added a few sequins and some black & white twine to finish off my card.

For this card I used part of the cover plate - that amazing center circle - as a stencil.  I placed the circle piece onto my card panel at the top corner and masked off all around the outside edge to ensure I only sponged on the inside of the circle.  I used all the new ink colors on this card in rainbow order.  The smile die was die cut using black card stock and the coordinating sentiment was stamped above.  Black & White twine finishes off this card.

My next card features the Faithful Flutterings stamp set.

I stamped the chevron in two different colors and then stamped the small butterfly from the Faithful Fluttering stamp set in the upper center of the chevron.  I love that you can see the chevron image through the wings.  I did create a set of these cards using different colors of ink.

Here are the three I created!

Each one uses a different sentiment from the set.  These will be great to have on hand.

Comment to WIN!!!!

Before you go make sure you comment on each stop along the hop.  Catherine will randomly pick two winners on each blog hop day, who will each win a complete set of Zen Garden Inks or a $45 Gift Certificate if you already have the inks.

PTI Stripes Challenge

Hi everyone!  It's a busy day on my blog today.  Scroll down to see my post for Seize the Birthday and another post using the new Zen Garden Release.

Today's card is for Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Challenge - use stripes.

I used Watercolor Wonder to create my stripes and then Initial Sentiments: Birthday.  The ink colors are the new inks from Catherine Pooler.  I will link the colors below.

Here is another one using different colors and a different sentiment.

And another.  Might as well create a bunch while you have your supplies out, right?!

I am so happy to add these to my Birthday card stash!

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Seize the Birthday - Coffee or Tea

Hi everyone and Happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday and this week our "Toppings" option is COFFEE or TEA.  You can always create an "Anything Goes" birthday card as well.

I used distress oxides to create the rainbow background.  Keeping the cup and steam images in black and white really make them pop off the background.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the designers over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!

I used Stone Blue, Skylight & Seafoam inks.  LOVE this color combo!

Zen Garden Blog Hop - Day 1 & Giveaway

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the Zen Garden Ink Release Blog Hop Day 1!  You should have arrived here from Catherine's blog.   If you started on my blog, the complete hop list is below.

Not only is Catherine releasing 8 new ink colors that go beautifully with the previously released Paradise Found Spa Collection, but she is also releasing stamps/dies, a stencil and a brand new Cover plate die.

My first card features the Zen Feather stamp set and matching dies.

To create my card, I stamped the amazing feather twice onto a piece of white card stock using black ink.  While I had my black ink out I stamped the sentiment.

I then stamped and white heat embossed the feather onto some water color card stock.  Using my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers, I scribbled the colors onto the feather in rainbow order, spritzed with water to blend the colors.  I used the coordinating die to cut it out.  I attached it to my card with foam tape.

Added some black and white twine to finish off my card.

My next cards feature the Chevron Cheer stamp set.

I stamped the amazing chevron oval stamp using the new Rose Petals ink pad, I then stamped the sentiment using Midnight ink and the flowers using the same ink color as the chevron oval.  I then used the awesome border stamp in the set to stamp a border on the top and bottom of my card.  I think that added stamping adds so much to this one layer card.

I had a blast creating these similar, yet different cards.  These would make an awesome gift set for someone special, don't you think?

Comment to WIN!!!!
Before you go make sure you comment on each stop along the hop.  Catherine will randomly pick two winners on each blog hop day, who will each win a complete set of Zen Garden Inks or a $45 Gift Certificate if you already have the inks.

Time to hop along to the next stop on the hop which is the amazing Ardyth Percy-Robb!  The complete blog hop list is below.

Happy Birthday Color Challenge

Hi everyone!  This is my second post for today.  Click HERE to view my Only Dies - No Stamps card for Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Celebration!

This card is for today's color challenge.  I can't resist a rainbow so I was so happy to see that color option.

I used the Initial Sentiments: Birthday stamp set to create my card.  I love this fun circular stamp.

Best Birthday Wishes - Dies only

Hi everyone!  Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Day 7 challenge is to use Dies only-no stamps.  I thought this was going to be pretty tough for me, but when I looked through my dies I created this card pretty quickly and easily with no stamps.  :)

I created the background by scribbling on water color cardstock with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and spritzing with water to move and blend the colors.  I love using this technique.

I then die cut the balloons from white card stock and the sentiment from black.  The inside of the balloons were die cut and inlaid using silver glimmer paper.

I will be adding this over at Happy Little Stampers as well.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Papertrey 11th Anniversary Day 5 Challenge: Retirement List

Hi everyone!  I'm back today sharing another card for PTI's Anniversary challenges.  Day 5's challenge was to use one of the Retiring stamp sets.

I chose to use Rainy Day Sentiments.

I chose one of the raindrops in the set and stamped it using three different colors.  I used my MISTI to get them lined up.  I followed the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! for this card.

AND another card using a different sentiment from the set.

I love all the sentiments in this set and need to use it more.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!
